Due to the current Foot & Mouth crisis and following further recent
consultation, the organisers of the Devizes to Westminster Canoe Race
re-affirm that the decision to cancel the event at Easter 2001 will
remain.
As previously stated, there are no plans to run the Devizes to
Westminster Canoe Race on an alternative date this year.
The decision to cancel the event remains, even though movement of craft
may be permitted, by the relevant authorities, on previously closed
sections of water.

BCU, BWB (British Waterways Board) and MAFF (Ministry for Agriculture,
