 Keep to the left hand bank as you pass by the top of the weir and then move to the right hand bank where the portage is. Portage the boat past the lock and put back in just below the lock. This can be a high portage when the river is low. Follow the river straight ahead and pass under a small bridge and do not deviate left or right.
Note this information received in April and July 2006: Just been to Shepperton Lock during a DW training run and the portage past the lock is now on the left hand side, and there is a now a whole new jetty below the lock, very close to water level. ... On the day of the 2006 DW the umpires still asked us all to use the old route. |
