My personal result for 1999 was 26th in the senior K1 in 21:52:26 (not 21:24:54 as officially - this was a mix up with another boat's start time on day 1). (Read more about the webmaster).
The winners of DW 1999 were crew 376 Jim Morrissey & Mick O'Meara of Dollymont Sea Scouts / 180 Kayak Club Waterford in a time of 17:50:06. Second were 404 Richard Elliot and Michael Wibrew of Maidstone Canoe Club, and third were 334 Kurt Dierckx and Erik Verduyckt of Kastelse Kayak Club. The senior singles class was in dramatic fashion by Steffen Burkhardt of Landes Kanu Verband Berlin by 6 minutes, after a 10 minute penalty was applied to boat 244, D Coulson of Reading Canoe Club. The winning time was 16:20:13.
